What are some benefits of working with a Realtor?

1. What are some benefits of working with a Realtor?

Often times, people ask me if they really need a real estate agent. Technically, no. Most consumers are super tech-savvy these days and like to search for their home on their own on consumer websites such as Redfin, Zillow, Realtor.com, etc. As Realtors, we love those websites! However, sometimes these websites are not 100% accurate in providing the most relevant and recent market data, as well as real time updates on a home’s status.

Not only can an agent provide you with real time home stats and availability of properties, they can arrange showings for you to see multiple homes in one day without you relying on potential open houses on the weekends. Working with a Realtor is also very beneficial as they are able to negotiate not only a price with the seller’s agent, but also the terms of the sale, as well as repairs, etc.

What many first time home buyers don’t realize is that it is absolutely FREE(!!) to work with an agent! Buyer's agents are paid a commission by the seller, thus causing no conflicts of interest. Your agent will be able to guide you through every step of the process and handle your transaction from the very beginning to the end and get you your new home keys!

2. When is the best time to buy?

Usually, late summer is the best time to start looking for homes since sellers are lowering their prices and most buyers that had been looking to move before the start of the new school year have exited the market.

June, July and August are the most popular months as this is when the most homes are on the market. 🏖

Based on data from Zillow, more than 13% of homes that had been listed in LA got a price cut each month between July and September of 2016.
